Debby downer

This week has been interesting so far with this tropical storm Debby. It rained for over 24 hours straight and cities are still underwater and the Skyway Bridge is still closed. It is supposed to touch down north of here on Thursday so hopefully no more damage will happen around here although it would be really cool to kayak down the street. Ryan and I went to the art museum at SPC on Sunday during the rain just to get out of the house. We got in for free because we are both "students."

Cool glass art.

My favorite painting of France by a student.

There was an Andy Warhol exhibit which was really cool but I wasn't allowed to take pictures.

It rained so much the pool and turtle pool were both over flowing.

Monday night I mastered the "fish tail braid." It came out so good and my hair looks really long. I have been waiting to do this but my hair has never been long enough (without extensions) so I was ecstatic with the final product!

Three

I know I've been slacking from posting things other than my weekly Saturday posts but getting back into the groove of working full time has been tough to do other things. Every day this week I have come home and taken a nap after work. So this week I thought I'd talk about 3 things that have been happening at work.

I am a receptionist at a car dealership, I answer the phones and direct them to the right person/department. It's not glamours or tough, but it surely does keep me busy. I work 7:30am - 3:30pm Monday- Friday and one weekend a month (at least that's the schedule I have for now.)

I know this is not what I will be doing for the rest of my life, but it is something that is keeping me busy and not worrying about finding a job. I am still trying to figure out "what I want to be when I grow up."  Grad school is something that I think about pretty often but the GRE is the one thing that is really holding me back, I'm the worst test taker. I am just trying to figure out what kind of job I really want. I thought I wanted an office job, but sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day can be kind of boring. For now it works though.

My day now starts as the butt crack of dawn. I'm not going to lie, I like watching the sun rise as I take the dogs out in the morning.

A headset, so official.

The highlight of the week, new chairs that are so comfy.

Three

I got a creative last week and made some things. My favorite craft project was a case for my iPhone. I was going to order a custom on on esty.com but when I saw the cheapest one being $60 I knew I had to make my own. I bought a clear case on ebay for $1.89 and a couple pieces of scrapbook paper from Michaels for $1.15 downloaded some fonts and played around with it. I absolutely love how it turned out and I love how I saved a ton of money.

$3.04 iPhone case.

This one isn't really a craft but it's a new product where you pick a flavored sugar packet and add it to icing to create your own flavor. We picked out "mint chocolate." It was easy to make and tasted really good. It would be perfect for chocolate cake or cupcakes.

I saw this one on Pinterest and figured it looked really easy. I just painted my house key with nail polish then when it dried I added some sparkle. It dried really quickly, which I liked a lot about this project.

Three

This week I thought it would be fun to post some throwback pictures. Over the past 6 or so years I have really started documenting my life/events/big moments/stupid things with pictures. I feel if you capture a moment you'll have a better memory of what was really happening that day. I love being able to go through old albums and seeing people grow up. (I had to take a picture of the picture because they were all so old, so please excuse the poor quality.)

Carly, Allison and I with my grandfather at Disney World when we were very little.

My sister and I having a Christmas photo shoot at our old house.

Madison, her mom and I at Disney. We look like were around 5 or so.

Three

Since it is officially June I thought it would be perfect for 3 things that remind me of summer. There are many things that came to mind like; sweet tea, ice cream at any time of the day, walking the beach at night and bike rides around the block.

Nothing says summer like spending every day in the pool. I'm finally tan again!!!! The best part after coming home from the beach is jumping right into a cold pool before taking a shower.

We have been cooking dinner on the grill just about every other day for the past week. There just something about grill marks on food that makes it taste better.

This is a painting of my Grandfathers old chalet that is in Gatlinburg, TN. Ever since I was a toddler my entire family, about 40 of us at a time would go to this house every summer and spend an entire week together. Ever since my Grandfather sold the chalet we have been going to the beach for reunions, but I personally like the mountains better.
