Three

This past week flew by for me, I can't believe it's already Friday and almost October. Christmas will be here before we know it! We finally got to try Pinkberry for the first time and was it good. I'm used to the places where you fill up the bowl yourself with the yogurt and toppings which is nice, but I have to say the quality of the yogurt at Pinkberry is much better.

My alumni card finally came in the mail. I'm not sure why it took me almost 2 years to get it (wow have I really been done with college for 2 years now?) It's just a nice thing to have because believe it or not there's a lot of discounts for UCF alum and it's free to get one! *Also, if you show this card at the ticket office in the union you still get the discounted ticket price for the parks and such!!

Lastly, I am stoked about the new fall episodes on TV. I'm not going to lie I'm going to miss The Office and How I Met Your Mother when their over soon. Hopefully the networks will get shows that are just as good for the spring.

Chocolate hazelnut frozen yogurt.

My UCF alumni card now hangs on my key chain.

I love TV on Thursday nights. (this was on the fridge)

First wedding anniversary

For our first wedding anniversary this past weekend Ryan and I traveled all over the place. Friday night we stayed with his parents in Daytona and got to catch up with them. Saturday we walked around UCF which brought back a lot of memories. After visiting some places that are only near campus we headed to the attraction area to check into our hotel. That night we met up with some friends and hung out at Downtown Disney.

Sunday we debated on just hanging out or going to Islands of Adventure, we picked hanging out and went to 2 different outlets and the mall. Monday we went to IOA and didn't wait more than 20 minutes for anything and got through the whole park twice in record time (much better decision waiting to go during the week.)

I have to say being back in Orlando was very nostalgic. Ryan and I lived there for 5 years before we moved and sometimes I think of it as home rather than the Tampa Bay area for of a lot of reasons. Maybe we'll move back there one day, we keep talking about it so we'll see where life takes us.

The bookstore on campus.

UCF, my alma mater. I can't believe I graduated almost 2 years ago!

Instead of bringing the whole top of the wedding cake we got some cupcakes from Sweet to celebrate instead.

Wedding day bliss

Instead of doing my usual post about 3 things that happened during my week I thought I'd share some of our wedding day pictures. We will be married for 1 year on Sunday, where has the time gone? It really does feel like yesterday that I had the butterflies in my stomach as I was getting ready with my sister and cousins before I partied the night away with our family and closest friends. We spent over a year planning so when September 23rd came around we were ready for the day to be over.

The day of the wedding was perfect unless you were me or the wedding planner you wouldn't have known anything went wrong...which nothing did except an hour before the wedding we moved the ceremony to an inside chapel because of the weather (awesome move on my part.) I still can't believe that the plan all along was to get married outside, I am in love with the chapel pictures and think that they came out great.

Ryan and I have done more in a first year of marriage than most couples; we both graduated from UCF, moved across the country twice (to PA and back), started 2 whole new jobs (in PA then in FL), got a dog, moved back in with my parents, started to buy a house then realized it wasn't the right time for us to buy, then finally moved into an apartment that we now call home.

Our photographers took 973 pictures I have narrowed it down to 23 on here so you don't get bored of us :) I put them in order of how the day went. There were so many options to choose from but I think these capture the day just perfect. Here is Adrienne's website in case you need a great photographer one day!

PS- We will be in Daytona and Orlando this weekend celebrating so let me know if you want to catch up!

Most of these pictures I have never shared so enjoy!!

*Fun fact- I still haven't changed my last name yet, I am legally still a Heit.

Final house tour

This is the last space in our apartment that I haven't talked about (besides the laundry room.) I originally saved this one for last because I didn't think there was going to be anything special besides some blinds and a huge closet. Well, I was wrong because Ryan has really brought everything together. We put up some blinds, curtains, got a whole bunch of plants and found a table and chairs.

The way we hung up the blinds makes it very private and no one can see in which is great for when you need extra light but don't want to see everything that's going on outside. The porch is at the front of the apartment so nothing is hidden, it's the first thing that someone sees when they walk up to our door so I like being able to close that off. I can't wait to start eating dinner out there when it gets cooler outside :)

There's snakes in those!

And turtles in that!

A good sized closet outside.

We found this card table and chairs at Good will for $12!

Three squared

Even though fall doesn't officially start until September 22nd it's already started in my life. I just love going to fall festivals, pumpkin patches, enjoying a cup of hot soup and the cooler weather. My all time favorite thing about fall is Starbucks and their iced pumpkin spice coffee. Even though it's my favorite I'm kind of glad it isn't offered year round, it just wouldn't be as special. I thought that since I've started the next season already I would share some things that I've enjoyed over the past couple weeks that are fall related. Yes, most of them are food, but cooking and enjoying new flavors are the best part of the next season.

Pumpkin flavored beer while playing checkers at a local bar.

I don't like dark chocolate but this sauce is good on ice cream.

First pumpkin spice iced coffee of the season.

I went a little crazy at the grocery store: pumpkin creamer, cream cheese and ravioli.

This is pumpkin cake/bread. I'm not sure what you'd call it. But it's just yellow cake mix and a can of pumpkin thrown into a crock pot for 4 hours and it's good!

I know it's fall when stores have cinnamon broom sticks!!

House tour: part 3

This week I'm focusing on the living and dining room. We spent a lot of time trying to figure out what would work best in our small living room. We decided on a smaller couch that folds out into a full size bed and an ottoman in place of a coffee table (we still haven't found the right one.) There isn't that much space to work with so it's been kind of difficult finding the right pieces in here. It's not like we have a ton of visitors and need more seating, so I think we've done a good job so far.

The dining room table also backs as Ryan's desk for school. Usually there's a bunch of papers everywhere and it has to be cleared before dinner. But this works for us because there isn't room to put a desk anywhere without the place looking like we're furniture hoarders.

Next week will be my last house tour post; I'm glad I've waited to show off the porch because Ryan is currently working on adding more shading and plants. I was planning on writing about it last because I thought it wouldn't be anything special but I think it's going to look really good when it's done.

Looking into the living room.

Can you believe that couch folds out into a full size bed?
This shelf is directly in front of you when you walk in the door.
The dining room. There's a little nook in the corner that I have no idea what to do with so for now it holds random stuff that doesn't have a place and is semi covered by a huge decorative plate. lol.
This gives you a better idea of what is on the left side of the house. (Barney's favorite spot is the tile near the fireplace.)
Instead of side tables we found these boxes that double as storage.
